The Backyard Grill at the Hollywood Bowl feels like a place that doesn’t need restaurant marketing. Perched on a rooftop overlooking the Bowl’s famous bandshell, and serving a menu created by legendary chef Suzanne Goin, it should be the hottest reservation in town.
But location is everything, and the Backyard is an IYKYK hidden gem. And while we’d selfishly love to keep it a secret, it’s too good to not give everyone a chance to try it. We coordinated with the team at the Bowl to give the Backyard its own version of restaurant marketing – a video billboard, sharing a peek of the experience with the masses of people flowing past the pizza and popcorn stands (we designed their branding and menus, too but that’s a different story).
We shot restaurant photography and videography during their bustling pre-show service, showcasing the experience and capturing the energy of the restaurant and crowd. That content was edited into a sizzle reel for the video screen outside the space, as well as other marketing channels.
